Privacy Policy

At Quizrow, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it when you use our platform.

1. What data we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you upload documents to generate quizzes, we process the text content of those documents temporarily. We also store the quizzes you create, the questions and answers within them, and any quiz responses submitted by participants. If you enable the "require name" setting on a quiz, the names entered by participants are stored alongside their responses.

We do not collect payment information, track your behaviour across other websites, or build advertising profiles.

2. How we use your data

Your name and email are used to manage your account and allow you to log in. Document text is sent to OpenAI's API solely to generate quiz questions and is deleted from our servers immediately after that process completes. We never use your document content for any other purpose.

Quiz content, responses, and participant names are stored so you can view results, export data, and manage your quizzes. We may use anonymised, aggregated usage statistics to improve the platform, but this data cannot be linked back to you or your content.

3. Third-party services

Quizrow uses the following third-party services that may process personal data on our behalf:

• OpenAI - used to generate quiz questions from uploaded documents. When you click "Generate quiz", the extracted text from your document is transmitted to OpenAI's API and deleted from our servers immediately afterwards. OpenAI processes this data according to their own privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
• Stripe - used to process subscription payments. When you purchase a plan, your payment and billing details are handled directly by Stripe and never stored on Quizrow's servers. Stripe may collect billing name, address, and payment method details to process your transaction and comply with financial regulations. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• Google Analytics - used to understand how visitors use our website (page views, traffic sources, session duration). Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data including your IP address (anonymised before storage) and places cookies on your device. This data is only collected with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Data storage and hosting

Quizrow's servers and databases are hosted within the European Union. Your personal data is stored and processed in accordance with EU data protection law (GDPR). We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction.

5. Data retention

Your account data and quiz content are retained for as long as your account is active. Uploaded document files are deleted immediately after text extraction. If you delete your account, all associated data including quizzes, questions, and quiz responses is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access - you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification - you may correct inaccurate data via your profile page at any time.
• Erasure - you may delete your account and all associated data directly from your profile page.
• Portability - you may request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection - you may object to certain processing of your personal data.

7. Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

• Essential cookies - required for the platform to function. These include session cookies (to keep you logged in) and cookies to prevent duplicate quiz submissions. These are placed without consent as they are strictly necessary.
• Analytics cookies - placed by Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage statistics. These are only placed after you have given explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer.
